Portraits on reversal film

I shot this series of portraits on Fuji Velvia 100 and 50 reversal film which provided the intense warm colors. Using vintage lenses and camera equipment I tried to create a nostalgic look. Most of the outdoor shots were taken at sunrise in the desert which gave them a golden hour look. The shots outside of the studio were mostly candid effectually enhancing the sense of nostalgia, giving the viewer the sense that he or she were flipping through an old photo album from decades past.

Spring Portraits

One of my favorite places to take pictures. One or two weeks a year the trees in this orchard bloom. My friend Emily agreed to let me shoot her there, she is a local artist.

Monster Energy Drink Shoot

On occasion having connections in film will land in front of the camera. This is a Monster Energy Drink Commercial that I starred in with Matt Meese. It was produced and directed by Brian Havig and Alla Volkova. I had to do two stunt shots and got whiplash! Watch and enjoy!

Joshua James Shoot

This week I worked as the production designer of the new Joshua James music video.

Our last day of shooting lasted 22 hours, the finale of which was a bonfire in which we burned a huge upright piano.

Joshua sitting near the fire.

A dancer from the video sitting between takes.

One of the actors drops a cup in the shot and she ended up cutting herself.

Another candid moment.

Ric Estrada Film Shoot

Saturday I had the privilege of meeting the famous comic book artist and cartoon animator Ric Estrada. Extremely charming at the age of 80, he has fantastic stories to tell about growning up in Cuba and working for such companies as Hannah-Barbera, Warner Brothers, Sony, Universial, and DreamWorks.

We interviewed him on camera for an upcoming documentary about his life directed by his son Seth Estrada. They were nice enough to let me snap his portrait.
